Olzhas started his career in professional services in September 2013 at an international auditing firm, where he participated in financial audit projects for companies in the oil and gas and mining sectors of Kazakhstan.
In February 2017, Olzhas became part of the KPMG Kazakhstan Consulting Department and participated in projects for implementation and improving internal audit, risk management, SOX internal control functions, and other areas of corporate governance and sustainable development.
In 2023, Olzhas joined KPMG Uzbekistan as the Director of the Consulting Department and head of the corporate governance and sustainable development practice.
Olzhas's experience includes:
- More than 30 projects on transformation and improvement of internal audit functions for various companies in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
- More than 20 projects in the ESG services area (preparation of ESG reporting, ESG diagnostics, obtaining ESG ratings, etc.) for various companies in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
- Implementation of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the requirements of the SOX for the largest fintech group in Central Asia.
- Implementation of a new risk management model, including business continuity and internal control functions for the largest oil and gas group in Kazakhstan.
