Sarah Varghese joined the firm in Saudi Arabia in 2023 and leads the Cities Advisory Solution within the Infrastructure practice. She was previously a partner with KPMG Australia where she was instrumental in building a successful national cities practice. Sarah supports clients on spatial visioning and ideation, urban strategy, strategic master planning, urban planning policy and project delivery, and enhances our in-house capability to complete the lifecycle of major projects.
Sarah is an International City Strategist, graduated with a master’s degree in Urban Design and bachelor’s in Architecture, and Urban Transformation Leader with 25+ years of global experience – both private and public – gained in Australia, the Middle East, the UK, and India. She has led large master planning teams in multidisciplinary firms such as Jacobs, WSP, Urbis, AECOM, and NSW Department of Planning & Environment in Australia.
With her substantial experience in the design and delivery of major urban and city-shaping projects and associated infrastructure, particularly those entailing complex stakeholder management, tourism, and investment attraction strategies, Sarah brings a fresh global perspective to city and municipal challenges. She has also authored various global and national thought leadership publications on cities as part of KPMG’s Global Cities network.
