The international audit, tax and business consulting company KPMG announces that it is ceasing its activities in Russia and Belarus.

KPMG is one of the first of the "big four" companies to decide to withdraw from Russia and Belarus due to the invasion of Ukraine. These companies, which operate on the basis of membership in the KPMG network, employ more than fifteen thousand employees.

"We believe that, together with other international businesses, we have a responsibility to take action against the military actions of the Russian authorities in Ukraine. For this reason, our member companies in Russia and Belarus will leave the KPMG network," the company's statement reads.

"Saying goodbye to employees, many of whom have worked at KPMG for many years, is really difficult. This decision is not related to the employees - it is a consequence of the actions of the Russian authorities. Our activities are based on values, so we always try to make sustainable decisions", the KPMG company statement emphasizes, adding that during this transitional period, the company will seek to provide the necessary assistance to the employees affected by the decision.
