Taj Diplomatic Enclave, Diplomatic Enclave, 2 Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi, India

28 November 2017, 9:00AM - 4:30PM, IST

The eighth edition of ENRich, KPMG in India’s flagship event for the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector, is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, 28 November 2017 at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave, Diplomatic Enclave, Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi. The theme of the conclave is ‘Changing Indian energy landscape – Adapting to a new normal and reality’.

The energy sector in India is undergoing significant transformation, and to some extent disruption over the last few years. Renewables came into the grid exponentially on the back of government policy push and a supporting environment: clean and sustainable energy got embedded as core in the energy dialogue of the country. In addition, tariffs witnessed sharp declines making power more affordable. Distribution reforms took the centre stage through Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY). However simultaneously, a huge capacity in thermal is under stress, stretching players’ balance sheets and the banking system equally and needs resolution. The government has stated its intent to move towards a ‘gas-based economy’, however, we are yet to witness a concrete policy around this. On the hydrocarbons front, substantial progress continues to be made under new policy regime and successful bidding of small and marginal fields some time back. With the advent of digitisation , decarbonisation , and customer focus, the utilities of tomorrow are bound to undergo a change. All this led us to wonder how the energy landscape of future is going to shape up, and how best to survive in this changing paradigm. Our energy conclave intends to discuss and deliberate all this and more.

We have invited Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India to share his perspective on the overarching theme of the event.

The day-long conclave will host five panel discussions during which more than 20 senior industry leaders will discuss their views around central themes in the sector. These themes include:

  • Transition of the energy sector in India – creating a vision for the future
  • Electric vehicles – How imminent is this disruption? What do stakeholders need to do to gear up?
  • Are we leveraging our resources advantage
  • Energy sector financing at crossroads: Realignment to emerging power markets
  • How to ‘thrive’ in the new normal.

As was the case in previous editions, ENRich 2017 is set to have interactive and insightful discussions with CXOs, policy makers , regulators, government utilities, private players, investors and sector experts.
