Are you looking for a new opportunity in 2024? A well-earned break over the holidays can be a great time to take stock and consider how one of the many exciting opportunities at KPMG could be the change you need. We spoke to Paul Vance and Laura White of our Resourcing Team at KPMG in Ireland to find out more.
Continued client demand for a wide range of specialised skills is good news for candidates looking for a fresh challenge. Paul Vance believes that despite some global economic headwinds, “we have a continued need for people with the right mix of experience and expertise. Our recruitment teams will be showcasing a range of opportunities throughout the first half of 2024.”
Consulting growth
Paul reports that our Consulting colleagues continued to see significant growth throughout 2023 and has a current focus on expanding. He lists roles across Technology Consulting, including Cloud Transformation, Enterprise Architects, MS Power Platform Architects and experienced SAP practitioners.
Paul says that “Great opportunities also remain strong across our Risk and Regulatory Advisory practices include Business Modelling, Technology Risk, Regulatory Reporting and Financial Risk Management.”
Construction Advisory and Strategy opportunities
Within Deal Advisory, our Construction Advisory and Strategy teams have seen significant growth. Laura White says, “At the moment we are hiring Senior Cost Managers and Associate Directors to further build out our Construction Advisory teams, and our Strategy team are embarking on a large hiring campaign in early 2024 to attract strategists across multiple grades as well as Supply Chain & Procurement professionals.”
Say hello to KPMG Law
Discussing new opportunities on the legal side, Paul says “One of the most exciting developments for us started around this time last year, when we launched KPMG Law. Since then, the practice has gone from strength to strength.”
Reflecting on the past year Paul says that as the team grows and adds to its impressive client base, “we have hired a number of senior roles, including salaried Partners, across multiple law disciplines including Technology and Intellectual Property and we’ll continue to hire into our dedicated law practice in the months ahead. “
Meanwhile all parts of our Audit business areas will continue to hire newly qualified accountants and across management grades also. In our dynamic Tax practice, we also have a range of opportunities available across Corporate Tax, R&D and Transfer Pricing.

What’s in it for me?
Commenting on what candidates are looking for in a move, Laura White says, “We recognise that our people have needs beyond the responsibilities and opportunities provided by the role. When people are considering a career change, they look holistically at what an organisation can offer.”
At KPMG we work hard on the bigger picture says Laura. “So a huge part of the appeal is how a new job will enhance their current career trajectory, the types of people that they will encounter on a daily basis, the commitment to sustainability, our active interest in the wider community and how this all ties into a celebrated island wide culture across our Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Galway offices as we continue to succeed within our successful hybrid work model.”
Diversity matters
Considering the need for diverse skill sets that will be needed across multiple business units in the new year, the KPMG recruitment team will be encouraging interested applicants to register their interest over the Christmas/New Year break by providing specific job openings where people can send us their CV and we will contact them in the New Year if we have a suitable career opportunity for them over the coming months.
Paul Vance says, “Our recruitment team are also aware that there will be people out there who are considering a career change but may not be fully aware of our diverse range of opportunities, so our recruitment team will be conducting various headhunting campaigns in the new year to specifically target niche skill sets, so keep an eye on your inbox!”
As hiring commences in 2024, our resourcing team will remain focused on ensuring that those who we hire reflect a balanced and inclusive organisation.
Reinforcing this commitment, Paul notes that KPMG announced earlier this year that by 2025, 50% of newly appointed Partners would be female. He says “whilst this target remains achievable, we’ll continue to stay alert to getting closer to a visible gender balance across all departments and grades. We’re also committed to celebrating a range of inclusion and diversity initiatives including Pride, our annual multicultural Around the World party and our ongoing involvement in a range of corporate citizenship initiatives which ensures that everyone feels included and valued.”
