The global climate crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic and Ireland’s changing dietary habits are changing the sector in ways we have not seen for decades. 

Accounting for 37% of all carbon emissions in Ireland, the agri-food sector is under immense pressure to decarbonise, with the recent Government Climate Action Plan outlining a targeted reduction of between 21% and 30% by 2030. 

The future consumer is more demanding than previous generations, and there has never been a greater emphasis on quality, sustainability and transparency.
