For a second year in a row, and on the occasion of the International Literacy Day, KPMG organised its “Back to School” contribution action.

At the start of the new school year, KPMG employees - responding to a quite moving extent and exceeding the quantities initially requested - collected school supplies for children aged from 18 months to 7 years old, who are attending the early intervention programs of ELEPAP, the Greek organisation which offers Rehabilitation for the Disabled, in Athens and Thessaloniki.

Representatives from KPMG visited the early intervention programs of ELEPAP. In Athens, the school supplies and children’s books were delivered by Siana Kyriakou, Partner and Chief Operating Officer, and Katerina Pournaropoulou, CSR and Marketing Coordinator of the company, whereas in Thessaloniki by Dimitris Iliadis, Director, and Fey Prousali, associate.

Members of the management and scientific personnel of ELEPAP welcomed the representatives of KPMG and gave them a tour of the facilities, where they also got the chance to meet the children and young people attending its various programs, who joyfully received the gifts and warmly expressed their thanks.

This KPMG action was carried out in the framework of the United Nations’ fourth goal of sustainable development, which is to ensure quality education, and further to the actions which the company is implementing on a global scale to combat childhood illiteracy, under KPMG’s Family for Literacy (KFFL) program.
