KPMG in the Crown Dependencies is delighted to announce the appointment of Hamish Crake to the role of Tax Director in Jersey. Hamish’s new position took effect from the beginning of the year, and his appointment reflects the continued growth of the firm’s tax division within the island.
Prior to starting his career, Hamish studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. Upon graduation he spent 9 years with another Big Four firm in their tax division – playing a key role in the development of their Operational Tax service offering – before joining the KPMG team.
Hamish is passionate about tax transparency – with a particular focus on automatic exchange of information (“AEOI”) matters including FATCA and the CRS. He has worked with banks, asset managers, trustees, corporate service providers, and family offices on the design, implementation, and monitoring of their AEOI governance and reporting frameworks.
A member of Jersey’s CRS working party, Hamish has been recognised by ePrivateClient as a Channel Islands NextGen Leader and Top 35 under 35 in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Elsewhere, Hamish enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, and exploring Jersey’s beaches.
Tony Mancini, Head of Tax at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies, says, “It’s our pleasure to appoint Hamish to the role of Tax Director within our team. He brings a decade worth of skills and experience to the role, and has been recognised repeatedly for his work within the sector. As the firm continues to grow, KPMG is always proud to appoint such talent. We look forward to working with him in the years to come.”
