In FY22 KPMG in Denmark reached a total revenue growth of 23% across advisory, audit and tax. Overall, the revenue increased from 1,112 million DKK in 2021 to 1,365 million DKK in 2022. KPMG has experienced organic growth across all business areas with Advisory accounting for 28%, Audit 11% and Tax 25%.

KPMG in Denmark has spent 2022 continuing to develop its rapidly growing business. With a new employee-centric strategy in hand, KPMG has already taken big steps down the path that will continue to deliver double-digit annual growth rates through to 2026.

In 2022, we adopted a new strategy that puts the well-being of our people at the centre. It is our people who will ensure that we achieve double-digit growth rates, which remains our ambition until 2026 – even as we face an uncertain future with the risk of recession. With our result for 2022, we have given ourselves a solid foundation that we strive to build on in 2023, so we can continue to be a healthy and sustainable company.

Our people’s well-being is at the centre

In 2022, KPMG has invested heavily in its employees and introduced several measures to maintain KPMG as an attractive place to work. For example, KPMG has introduced an academy to make work-life balance easier for those studying to become a state authorised public accountant. In addition, KPMG has also introduced one of the industry’s most comprehensive Parent Growth programmes which, among other things, includes equal rights to 24 weeks of parental leave between parents, pension payments if the parents decide to prolong their leave with up to 13 weeks as well as full pay during grief leave.

“We do this to attract and retain employees, and it is also part of our goal to increase the number of women on our board and in our management levels in the coming years. We can see that it has an impact. We are back in the top 50 in Berlingskes Image survey, just as we are back among the 25 most favourable workplaces for business and economics students. And we are not resting on our laurels but will continue to develop existing initiatives and introduce new ones that ensure a flexible work-life balance, so we continue to be an attractive workplace that can attract new employees," says Morten Mønster.

Strengthened efforts within ESG

In 2022 KPMG has significantly strengthened its efforts within ESG. With the establishment of a joint ESG programme, KPMG now has a team of specialists working across the business to strengthen KPMG's work with ESG - both externally and internally. This has, among other things, resulted in KPMG publishing its first separate sustainability report, KPMG Impact Report, this year.

Our joint ESG efforts ensure that we are innovative and data-driven in our approach, with a practical understanding of how automation and new technologies can drive green transition. We can see that this strengthened focus on ESG is being noticed and appreciated - internally and outside of KPMG. Internally, more people are proud to work for KPMG and more people want to contribute - and externally, we can see it in various image surveys and in terms of the services we can offer to our clients. Of course, it makes us proud to be noticed. But most importantly, we can make a real difference.

KPMG has already used this approach when solving various ESG tasks. As an example, KPMG has for several years been deeply involved in the development of the Baltic Pipe which opened last autumn and supplies Eastern Europe with European gas. KPMG has also helped a big shipping company calculate the optimal sailing routes, reducing the company's fuel consumption by 10 percent and ultimately reducing CO2 emissions significantly.

"Lastly, we see that our business is still in a phase with continued growth and we as management of course have to manage the uncertainty of growing and further developing our business in a volatile environment. With our 2026 strategy as our guiding star, we feel well equipped to do so," says Morten Mønster, CEO and senior partner at KPMG in Denmark.
