In this webinar, we dive into the critical topics and transformative shifts shaping the future of operational technology (OT) and cybersecurity in Europe. Today’s discussions will provide deep insights into the convergence of OT systems, the impact of groundbreaking EU regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act, and the evolving responsibilities of OT ownership within a rapidly changing regulatory landscape. Together, we will explore perspectives and strategies that organisations can adopt to reassess their OT operations, confidently embrace these changes, and thrive in this era of transformation and opportunity.
Convergence and the importance of secure approaches in operational technology (OT)
Convergence is a buzzword in the industry, particularly in discussions about OT. While opinions vary, one thing is clear: there is much to gain—and much at stake. Historically, OT environments have operated in isolation. However, integrating communication with these environments unlocks significant benefits across all sectors.
In this talk, we demystify the concept of convergence and explore effective strategies for confidently managing OT environments and systems as these traditionally separate domains increasingly overlap.
The Cyber Resilience Act & how to prepare
The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is a groundbreaking EU regulation that came into force in 2024. This new EU-wide law governs hardware and software product manufacturers, making compliance mandatory for CE marking. All manufacturers must ensure CRA compliance by the end of 2027.
In this talk, we outline the key points of the CRA and share insights into how companies, particularly in the Nordic market, are preparing for these changes.
OT, ownership and responsibility – challenges and how they’re changing
With the EU and European countries introducing stricter regulations on cybersecurity, governance and AI ethics, the oversight of OT systems must be elevated to top-level management. Emerging legislation—such as the NIS2 Directive and the AI Act—imposes greater accountability on organizations to manage operational risks, ensure data compliance, and mitigate cyber threats in interconnected systems.
In this talk, we examine these developments with a special focus on the Nordics, providing actionable insights to help businesses proactively address regulatory obligations, avoid penalties, and strengthen their competitive position in this rapidly evolving operational landscape.
Insights into industrial OT, AI and analytics
AI and analytics are transforming OT environments, enabling businesses to leverage mature data platforms, advanced simulations, and industrial-grade insights for unparalleled efficiency. However, while innovations like edge AI and device-level intelligence offer immense potential, OT remains behind the curve in adopting AI technologies—creating both challenges and extraordinary opportunities.
In this talk, we delve into how organizations can overcome these barriers and position themselves to capitalize on the transformative power of AI in OT.
