KPMG in Germany is driving forward the digital transformation of auditing and integrating further AI agents into the global smart audit platform "KPMG Clara AI". Around 95,000 auditors worldwide will benefit from the new generation of intelligent agents that automate routine tasks, make data-based recommendations and draw the audit teams' attention to high-risk issues in a targeted manner.
For example, the AI agents automatically check expenses, identify unrecognized liabilities and analyze provisions - and support the auditors in achieving a more efficient, consistent and high-quality audit result.
Our AI agents in KPMG Clara quickly provide in-depth insights into the audit material, reduce client queries and relieve audit teams of tasks such as data collection and aggregation. The professional skepticism and years of experience of our audit teams are still important and cannot be replaced by AI. Rather, it's about effective interaction between tech-nology and people - for better decisions, higher quality and therefore more trust in the capital market.
A central element of AI development in KPMG Clara AI is the Financial Report Analyzer (FRA), which uses a specially developed AI engine to support auditors in completing legally required disclosure checklists. Further applications are currently under development and will be integrated into control test procedures and financial statement analyses, among other things, in the coming months.
"The integration of AI agents is part of a long-term innovation strategy for our audit applications. It follows the introduction of AI Transaction Scoring a few years ago and the integration of an AI chatbot on our KPMG Clara AI platform. This enables natural language interaction with Generative AI and the connected proprietary knowledge bases for audit methodology and standards," says Sebastian Stöckle, Partner and Chief Technology Officer for Audit at KPMG in Germany.
