Brazil and Germany have long been linked by a strategic and close partnership - not only in economic and political matters, but also in terms of education, science and technology. Due to the historically strong immigration of many Germans to Brazil, the two countries share many common traditions.

Economically, Brazil has meanwhile advanced to become Germany's most important trading partner in South America and - after Mexico - the second most important export and import country in Latin America. More than 1,300 German-Brazilian companies employ around 230,000 people in the largest country in the southern hemisphere. On the other hand, Germany is playing an increasingly important role as Brazil's largest trading partner in Europe.

While there are numerous economic and cultural peculiarities in Brazil that foreign companies have to take into account, German companies in turn have their own strategies for being successful abroad. The German Desk is familiar with the characteristics of both cultures and is made up of both German experts with many years of experience in Brazil and Brazilian colleagues who have gained professional expertise in Germany.

As an initiative of the international KPMG network to provide targeted and comprehensive on-site support to German companies with business activities in Brazil as well as to Brazilian companies considering entering the German market, the German Desk has direct access to local, highly specialized experts from the individual services Audit, Tax and Advisory.
