IASB publishes near-final draft with examples of climate-related and other uncertainties

We reported on the exposure draft in Express Accounting News 39/2024.

The Illustrative Examples are intended to illustrate how entities can improve the reporting of existing uncertainties. Although the examples relate to climate-related matters, the principles outlined can also be applied to other, non-climate-related uncertainties.

The IASB has developed the Illustrative Examples to address stakeholder concerns about insufficient information or inconsistencies with other information about climate-related uncertainties provided outside of financial reporting. The early publication as a near-final draft is intended to promote early and well-founded application.

The IASB expects to publish the final examples in October 2025.
