Last month brought extensive changes to sustainability reporting. On February 26, 2025, the EU Commission published its long-announced proposals to revise the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), among others, with the first omnibus regulatory package (“Omnibus I”). Omnibus I was accompanied by an initiative to simplify the EU taxonomy.
The new edition of the study “Digitalization in Accounting 2024/2025” has been published. Our study provides insights into the current status and ongoing developments of digitalization in accounting. This year, the focus is also on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in accounting and the influence of digitalization on the future operating model of the finance function.
Finally, we will inform you about a draft of a new IDW standard: Designing early crisis detection and crisis management in accordance with Section 1 StaRUG (IDW ES 16).
