Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/19 published

On 15 January 2025, the European Commission published Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/19 in the Official Journal of the EU with regard to the update of the ESEF basic taxonomy carried out in 2024. This regulation amends the previous version of Regulation (EU) 2022/2553 of 21 September 2022. In addition to updating the ESEF basic taxonomy, the regulation also contains an updated list of the notes to the financial statements to be marked up.

The amended ESEF basic taxonomy and the updated list of notes to be disclosed must be observed by companies that present their IFRS consolidated financial statements in accordance with the ESEF basic taxonomy prescribed by the EU in compliance with EU Regulation 2019/815.

The updates apply to financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2025. However, issuers are permitted to apply the amendments to financial years beginning before 1 January 2025.
