Technological advances mean that all age groups, whether children, young people, parents or senior citizens, are spending more time on digital devices. Whether for learning, playing games or communicating with friends - technology is now an integral part of everyday life. But digital devices also come with risks. With a few simple tips and a little basic knowledge, you can organise your digital time safely.

The KPMG Global Cyber Day Initiative

The annual KPMG Global Cyber Day initiative is one of our worldwide corporate citizenship programmes. In autumn, starting with Cyber Security Awareness Month in October, our experts around the world get involved in online safety. They meet and reach out to students, teachers and parents and support them in navigating the digital world more consciously. The focus is on the safe handling of personal data, social media, online gaming and smartphones.

Our Cyber Day Champions

Lucas Roßberg and Anna Plagge, cyber security consultants from Dresden and Berlin, will be presenting various online content relating to cyber security. As Cyber Day Champions for KPMG in Germany, they are particularly keen to raise awareness of cyber risks.

"Children of all ages use smartphones to learn, play or interact with friends," they say, "and parents and guardians want to make sure their children are safe online. In our video-on-demand programme, we provide basic knowledge and practical tips for different age groups."

Willhelm Dolle, Head of Cyber Security, and Michael Falk, Partner, Cyber Security, are the sponsors behind the Cyber Day initiative.

Proactive measures for greater safety

Early discussions with children and young people can promote their safe use of the internet. Parents should be aware that the internet harbours risks such as cyberbullying and inappropriate content. Proactive measures are essential to protect children from these dangers. Our video-on-demand programme is designed to help you ensure online safety for you and your children.
