On 30 December 2022, the European Commission published in the Official Journal of the EU the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2553 with regard to the 2022 update of the ESEF basic taxonomy.
In addition to updating the ESEF basic taxonomy, the regulation also contains an updated list of notes to be marked.
The amended ESEF basic taxonomy and updated list of notes to be marked must be observed by business entities that mark their IFRS consolidated financial statements according to the ESEF basic taxonomy specified by the EU in accordance with EU Regulation 2019/815.
The updates will apply to financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2023. However, issuers are already permitted to apply the changes to financial years beginning before 1 January 2023.
