Michael Pritzer

I have been COO for Service Audit at KPMG Germany since 2021. In this role, together with a broad-based leadership team, I am responsible for the quality and further development of our services in the Audit and Regulatory Advisory business areas with Digital Process Compliance, Forensic and Sustainability Reporting & Governance.

My clients include both large and capital market-oriented companies, which I support as Global Lead Partner in the audit of financial statements. I can look back on almost 20 years of experience in auditing and audit-related consulting and have a global network thanks to my work in the USA and Germany.

As a mountain biker, I have learned to react dynamically to a changing environment. I also bring this characteristic to my professional life in order to drive forward the transformation process for the auditing of the future.  Digitalization and constantly changing regulations are constantly giving rise to new areas of activity in which I can shape the future as COO and auditor. One example of this is the requirements and opportunities arising from ESG (environmental, social and governance) aspects for companies.

In addition to the dynamics, I am fascinated by innovative technologies in the audit of annual financial statements. They enable new data and analysis options that not only increase efficiency, but also support quality. In my view, however, digitalization in auditing is not possible without the people behind it: Only the well thought-out application and interpretation of the results creates security and trust - and thus generates tangible added value for our clients, the capital markets and society.
