Mathias Oberndörfer

Divisonal Head of Public Sector

KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft

In October 2024, I took over responsibility for the Public Sector as Divisional Head. I have been Managing Director of KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH since 2016.

I advise a large number of companies from various industries at German and international level. I also focus on the public sector and advise federal ministries, federal states and larger municipalities as well as non-profit organisations and foundations. One focus of my work is supporting my clients in the transformation driven by digitalisation and ESG.

I was admitted to the bar in 2001 and have been working for KPMG in Germany since 2005. After joining the Tax Public Sector department, I moved to KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, where I was appointed Partner in 2009. From 2014 to 2021, I was responsible for the public sector as divisional head of KPMG in Germany. In 2016, I was appointed Managing Director of KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft. From 2021 to 2024, I was responsible for the Tax division on the Executive Board of KPMG.
