Jens Berberich studied law at the University of Heidelberg and business administration at the University of Mannheim. He graduated in business administration in 2001 and received his doctorate in accounting law from the law faculty of the University of Heidelberg one year later. He was appointed lawyer in 2002, tax advisor in 2004 and auditor in 2006. He is a member of the Gesellschaftsrechtlichen Vereinigung (VGR) and the Deutsche Steuerjuristische Gesellschaft (DStJG).
His professional expertise lies in corporate tax law and in tax advice on restructuring and corporate transactions (M&A). In this context, his area of expertise ranges from tax due diligence and tax structuring of the sale or acquisition process to tax advice on post-deal integration. In addition, Jens Berberich is an expert in transformation tax law; he advises on corporate transformations, reorganisations and restructurings.
Jens Berberich has many years of experience in providing tax advice to companies of all sizes and legal forms and has focused primarily on medium-sized and owner-managed companies and their family offices as well as portfolio companies of financial investors.
He is a university lecturer in tax law at Mainz University of Applied Sciences and at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, where he teaches, among other things, international tax law, reorganisation tax law and turnover tax law.
