Assistant Director of IT, Applications

Our client is a government-funded institution with sizable operation in Hong Kong.

• Responsible for Applications and Integrations, which include core business systems & ERP transformation, including Finance, HR, Internal users’ Information System, and customise web and mobile application development
• Responsible for the planning, design, development, implementation and support of major information systems and technologies in support of the institution’s activities
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend the resources needed for the implementation, upgrades, support activities and related projects
• Identify, evaluate and supervise third-party vendors and consultants and prepare, negotiate, and monitor compliance of vendor and consultant contracts
• Work closely with the institution’s administrative units to develop and implement new IT solutions and services
• Build strong client relationships and align departmental priorities, strategies and resources with the institution’s mission and strategic goals
• Analyse the needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems requirements, design and implementation to develop/modify the institution’s information processing systems
• Other ad hoc IT projects and assignments as directed

• Degree in information technology, computer science or a related discipline. MBA is a plus
• Min. 10 years’ of experience in information application systems and integration development support in a production environment
• Extensive experience in the management of large, complex information systems and projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• A self-starter, highly committed with strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure
• The ability to translate needs analysis data into formal designs and implementation
