China Economic Monitor: Q1 2023

China’s GDP grew 3.0% in 2022, below the 5.5% growth target set by the government last March. Despite slower economic growth, the size of China’s GDP reached RMB 121 trillion (USD 18 trillion), showcasing China’s underlying strengths as a large domestic market. We expect China’s economy to grow 5.7% this year.
