KPMG’s roadmap for ESG development
KPMG’s roadmap for ESG development
Helping companies understand the value of managing ESG risks and issues and promoting green development
KPMG China’s Business Reporting and Sustainability team has developed a series of posters to guide companies in understanding the value of managing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks and other issues related to their businesses, as well as the value of promoting green development.
This series of posters identify organisations’ common pain points and provide a roadmap for each stage of their ESG development as they move from merely meeting regulatory requirements to integrating ESG into their core business processes to finally taking a leading position in driving purposeful and sustainable businesses.

ESG – the challenges
Environmental pollution, climate change and resource depletion are significant global challenges affecting business and our societies. Capital markets are also increasingly concerned about the sustainability of listed companies’ businesses and operations, the general public have greater expectations on how companies manage their ESG issues.
Mandatory ESG information disclosure rules are setting foundations to regulate and guide companies in fulfilling their social responsibilities. How companies develop long-term development strategies through ESG management systems will become a key issue as China advances its green agenda.
