Background

Dana co-leads the ESG Reporting service offering for KPMG China.

An ESG Assurance partner by background, Dana helps companies interpret and apply the requirements of sustainability-related reporting frameworks and regulations. She also assists companies with the design and implementation of systems, processes and controls required to enable this reporting – with a view to align financial and non-financial reporting processes, improve ESG ratings and achieve external assurance.

Dana has been with KPMG for 18 years and focused on helping companies implement regulatory change for 10.

Professional experience

  • Lead engagement partner on a variety of ESG Reporting Advisory engagements, including:
    - Conducting materiality assessments, including facilitating stakeholder engagement;
    - Gap assessments under a number of different reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, TCFD, ISSB proposals);
    - Defining target operating models for non-financial reporting, including visioning workshops, current state assessments and implementation roadmaps; and
    - Automation of reporting processes using a number of different technologies and platforms.
  • Lead engagement partner on several ESG Assurance engagements, including provision of observations and recommendations:
    - Selected ESG key performance indicators, including operational emissions, financed emissions and sustainable finance metrics;
    - Disclosure statements released under UN Principles for Responsible Banking and Operating Principles for Impact Management; and
    - Sustainable and green bonds and loan arrangements.
  • ESG subject matter expert on ESG engagements which are not specific to ESG Reporting, such as climate risk assessments, due diligence and ad hoc ESG advisory
  • Prior to joining KPMG China:
    - Completed secondments to KPMG UK (London) and KPMG US (New York); and
    - Held roles as KPMG Canada’s IFRS 17 technical partner, ESG Assurance leader and Insurance Accounting Change Leader.
