      • The partners of KPMG Switzerland have elected Pascal Sprenger as new CEO from 1 October 2026.
      • Stefan Pfister, the current CEO, will continue to hold a senior role within the KPMG network until March 2027, after which he will take on external board positions.

The equity partners of KPMG Switzerland have elected Pascal Sprenger as their future CEO by an overwhelming majority. Pascal Sprenger will take up his new post on 1 October 2026, succeeding Stefan Pfister, who has held this role for the past twelve years. Pfister will remain within the KPMG network until March 2027 before taking on external board positions.

Pascal Sprenger (46) has been at the helm of Financial Services since 2024 and is a member of the Executive Board of Directors of KPMG Switzerland. With more than 20 years of experience at the company in various management positions, Sprenger boasts cross-functional expertise and an excellent track record. He is also actively involved in leading trade associations and industry organizations. Pascal Sprenger stands for a strong client focus, a cooperative style of leadership as well as strategic foresight – ideal prerequisites for his future role as CEO of KPMG Switzerland.

“I am honored by the confidence my fellow Partners are placing in me by naming me the leader of KPMG Switzerland. Stefan Pfister is handing me the reins to a successful, high-performing and forward-looking company. That also makes me all the more excited to continue following this trajectory and actively shape the future of KPMG Switzerland. For our clients, KPMG Switzerland will remain a reliable partner with a client-focused approach, in-depth industry knowledge and a high level of professional expertise that supports them as they embark on future challenges. Together with the Partners and members of our staff, I aim to further consolidate and expand our market position in Switzerland,” says Pascal Sprenger on his election.

Stefan Pfister, the departing CEO, congratulated his successor by saying: “With Pascal Sprenger at the helm, we have an experienced leader with in-depth industry expertise and international leadership experience, who also enjoys broad support within the ranks of KPMG’s partners. Pascal Sprenger combines continuity with a focus on the future. This will enable him, in his new role, to confidently and successfully lead KPMG Switzerland in a dynamic and complex environment.”

During his twelve years as CEO, Stefan Pfister has made an outstanding contribution to KPMG Switzerland by successfully and unerringly putting the company on a growth trajectory, driving its digital transformation and positioning it for sustainable success. He is regarded as the architect and major driving force behind the merger with KPMG UK, which gave rise to the second-largest unit within the KPMG network after the United States. This internationalization is allowing KPMG Switzerland to scale its financial and human resources while also expanding its international expertise in advising companies with global operations. The Executive Board of Directors, the partners and all employees of KPMG Switzerland would like to thank Stefan Pfister for both his extraordinary contributions and his personal dedication, and wish him all the best for the future.
