Michael Yu

Michael Yu is an Executive Director at KPMG's Family Office practice in the Greater Vancouver Area. He specializes in serving first-generation and multi-generational Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) individuals and families from all backgrounds. As a trusted advisor, he is dedicated to understanding each client's unique values and priorities, enabling him to develop tailored, integrated solutions that drive long-term success.

Most recently, he was advising families from coast to coast across Canada at a Multi-Family Office in Toronto where he developed a strong foundation in tax and estate planning, wealth and investment strategy, strategic philanthropy, dynamics and governance and family administration. He began his career with a national accounting firm and KPMG Private Enterprise and later progressed to joining the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).

Michael earned his Undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Guelph and Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. He holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

In the past, Michael has served on committees for CPA Ontario and STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
