David Yung

David is a Partner in our Calgary audit practice and has fifteen years of experience with KPMG. He is a member of the corporate audit practice, focusing mainly on serving domestic and international public and private oil and gas clients. 

David’s key areas of knowledge and experience include growing and assisting companies with securities offerings, complex accounting matters and financial statement audits.

David is known for his practical approach to business and accounting issues. He is proactive, gives prompt responses and always open to discussions.    

He is also recognized in the office for his client service excellence and ability to build strong, lasting relationships with clients, his community and staff.

David’s focus to date has been providing audit services to public and private oil and gas companies. He has served clients in various development stages and of various sizes. David has been involved in securities engagements including listing of clients and other securities offerings. He has experience with various accounting framework, including IFRS, ASPE, and US GAAP.

David has served a wide array of other domestic and international energy clients and has strong working relationships with other KPMG offices around the globe. His education background and work experience allow him to assess the needs and deliver services that benefit his clients.

David is also experienced in serving clients with parent companies in foreign jurisdictions, including China. He understands the relationships between such Canadian subsidiaries and the parent companies, the financial reporting requirements or needs from the parents, and the importance of meeting reporting deadlines.
