Matthew is a Tax Partner based in Kitchener, ON and serves as a trusted business advisor to privately owned businesses in various industries including manufacturing, construction, aerospace, retail, consumer goods, and real estate. He has over a decade of experience navigating Canadian businesses through a wide variety of complex corporate, personal, and estate tax matters.
Over his career, Matthew has had extensive involvement with groups that are shaping tax education in Canada. Prior to joining the Kitchener office, Matthew led the national tax learning & development group within KPMG, and he has lectured at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management for a decade. Matthew is currently the Chair of CPA Canada’s Income Tax Education Committee (ITEC), and a member of the Board of Examiners for the Common Final Examination (CFE) of the CPA profession. Matthew is also a co-author on a university textbook in taxation.
Matthew has been recognized for his contributions to the CPA profession by receiving the CPA Canada Gold Medal, the CPA Ontario Emerging Leader Award, and the University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance Leader to Watch Award.
