Serena is a Partner at KPMG Law LLP and focuses her practice on corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on day-to-day operations, mergers and acquisitions and financing. In advising clients on the day-to-day legal concerns facing the company, Serena is routinely involved and has extensive experience with reviewing, revising and drafting a broad range of commercial agreements, including acquisition agreements, shareholder agreements, leases and general commercial contracts. Serena works collaboratively with tax and accounting advisors to bring value to her clients.
Serena is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Society of New Brunswick and has worked with owner-managed businesses, national and multi-national corporations that include transportation, logistics, manufacturing, retail operations, technology and various regulated health-care professions.
Serena has also spent time as in-house counsel for a large energy company headquartered in New Brunswick. Working with other lawyers, management and front-line employees, Serena’s executive responsibility included reviewing, negotiating and drafting key business agreements and assisting with the development of policies, procedures and reports to management on the company’s duties, liabilities and social responsibilities. This in-house experience provided Serena with an invaluable and unique perspective of the businesses she is regularly called on to advise.
