Sheilagh Jones

Sheilagh is a Partner in the KPMG Real Estate Tax Practice in Toronto. She manages tax advisory and compliance engagements for a diverse client base, specializing in the real estate industry with a focus on REITs.

Sheilagh advises clients on tax issues associated with effective structuring of domestic and international operations, acquisitions and divestitures, tax due diligence, tax modelling, financing strategies, and initial public offerings. Her experience includes servicing private equity, real estate funds, institutional real estate investors, managers, and developers. Sheilagh has advised on complex REIT transactions, including REIT conversions and privatizations, reorganizations, and takeovers.

Sheilagh is a leading expert on the Excessive Interest and Financing Expenses Limitation (“EIFEL”) rules and advises clients on complex EIFEL issues and modelling.
