Matthew’s focus in accounting, risk management and regulatory change for life & health insurers and worker’s compensation boards. This includes advising on model risk governance & management, best practices for actuarial reporting workflow and controls under IFRS 17 and management reporting.
Matthew began his career in the life insurance industry spending over a decade with one the leading global Canadian life insurance groups. Over his tenure in industry his responsibilities included risk management, asset-liability management, product & pricing development, valuation and corporate oversight of actuarial financial reporting.
Since leaving industry Matthew has successfully led the delivery of multiple projects for the adoption of IFRS 17 and served as the global actuarial lead on the audit of a leading global Canadian insurance group. More recently, Matthew served as the interim Chief Financial Officer of a worker’s compensation board during a period of transition.
