Bobby Wang is a Partner in the Business Law Group at KPMG Law in Toronto with a focus in financial services and the Leader for the Asia Practice. His practice focuses on corporate and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law, with a particular focus on the financial services sector. He advises clients from Asia, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom on cross-border transactions and business matters. He is admitted to the bar in Ontario and New York and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Shanghainese.
Bobby advises financial institutions on syndicated and bilateral secured financing transactions and has assisted foreign banks with applications to establish Canadian branches. He also advises foreign corporations on Canadian market entry and exit strategies and internal reorganizations. His transactional experience includes advising Canadian, Chinese and Korean state-owned and privately owned enterprises on financing and mergers and acquisitions in the hospitality, technology, mining and oil and gas sectors, as well as advising a European educational holding company on Canadian acquisitions.
Prior to joining KPMG Law, Bobby practised in New York and Toronto and worked in both private practice and the legal group of a large Canadian bank. His prior experience includes acting as in-house counsel supporting Canadian commercial banking operations and advising investment banks on collateralized debt obligations and derivatives transactions.
