Liam Phipps is a member of KPMG Law’s Business Law practice group. He has over eight years of experience advising clients on corporate law matters in Alberta, British Columbia, and New Zealand. Liam works with organizations across the energy, health care, technology, and construction sectors on a range of corporate and commercial legal matters.
Liam’s practice focuses on corporate transactions, including business restructures, joint venture arrangements, and mergers and acquisitions (domestic and cross-border). He also advises on general commercial contracts and corporate governance matters. His experience spans the day-to-day legal work involved in helping organizations structure, negotiate, and implement corporate transactions, manage commercial relationships, and address governance considerations.
Liam is known for a pragmatic and solution-focused approach to his work. Collaboration and clear communication are central to how he works with clients and other stakeholders throughout the course of a mandate.
Outside of work, Liam enjoys exploring the Alberta outdoors with his wife, Sara. He is always keen to connect with people over coffee or a meal to learn more about what motivates and inspires them in business and in life.
