Dan Doran is an Executive Director in KPMG’s Advisory practice and the National Lead for Defence and Security. He brings more than 20 years of experience across the public and private sectors, working in both English and French, with deep expertise spanning defence and security, real property, and enterprise transformation. Dan’s work focuses on helping senior leaders translate strategic intent into executable plans—particularly in high consequence environments where governance, stakeholder alignment, and delivery discipline matter as much as the solution itself. He combines strategic and organizational planning with hands on program and project leadership, supporting initiatives ranging from defence capability modernization to complex operating model and service delivery transformations. A hallmark of Dan’s approach is his strength in negotiation, conflict management, and consensus building, informed by overseas experience in austere environments and engagement with divergent stakeholders. He leads by example, prioritizing trust, clarity, and long term relationships—building durable partnerships with colleagues and clients to enable transformational outcomes. Dan also brings extensive leadership experience across federal, provincial, and municipal contexts, as well as major program delivery experience in complex real property and institutional settings. He has supported large portfolios involving strategic planning, organizational development, governance design, and delivery oversight—often where constraints, risk, and competing priorities require pragmatic decision making and disciplined execution.
