Ron is a partner in KPMG Law’s Tax Law practice who advises domestic and international clients on complex Canadian and cross‑border corporate tax matters. His practice focuses on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, structured financings, and real estate transactions, particularly where international considerations and treaty issues are engaged.

Ron works with public companies, multinational corporations, real estate investment trusts (REITs), owner‑managed businesses, real estate developers, and high‑net‑worth individuals. He regularly advises on the tax structuring of acquisitions and divestitures, cross‑border tax planning, partnership taxation, and financing arrangements, including syndicated financings and asset securitizations. His experience spans both domestic and international tax regimes, with an emphasis on transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.

In addition to transactional advisory work, Ron has represented clients before the Tax Court of Canada and is experienced in navigating complex tax positions and disputes arising from corporate and cross‑border activity. He acts as a central tax resource for clients of the firm, drawing on KPMG’s multidisciplinary capabilities to address fact‑specific legal and tax issues within broader business contexts.

Ron is a prolific speaker and writer on Canadian and international tax law. He has presented at conferences organized by the Canadian Tax Foundation, the International Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Federated Press, and the Law Society of Ontario, and has been invited to speak for accounting firms, business organizations, and corporate audiences in Canada and internationally. His written commentary has appeared in publications including those of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the International Bar Association, Tax Notes International, Tax Notes, and Tax Profile, and he has been interviewed by The Globe and Mail and the National Post.

Outside of his legal practice, Ron is a founding member of the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto, has held multiple volunteer roles with charitable organizations and educational institutions, and has received awards recognizing his contributions to the profession and the community.
