KPMG in Bermuda is pleased to announce the recipients of their three 2026 scholarship awards. These scholarships support Bermudian students who are pursuing degrees in fields related to accounting and insurance, with a specific interest in financial services. The KPMG Scholarship, valued at $30,000 per annum, has been awarded to William Spriggs III. The Captive Scholarship, also valued at up to $30,000 per annum, has been awarded to Kijali JeanMarie. The Artex Scholarship (formerly the Frontier Scholarship), valued at $15,000 per annum for up to three years, has been awarded to Camaje Easton-Smith. Each scholarship includes not only financial support for the duration of their degree but also access to KPMG’s Lift Off Program, which offers mentoring, summer internships, and support toward professional qualifications such as the CPA Canada, CPA US, ACA, and ACCA. Recipients are also given the opportunity to take part in KPMG’s Global Advantage Program, a four-day leadership program at one of its global offices.

Felicia Wilsen, Partner and Lift Off Program Chair at KPMG in Bermuda, highlighted the firm’s focus on nurturing the next generation of Bermudian talent.

The Captive Scholarship, established in collaboration with the Bermuda Captive Network in 2025, is specifically designed for students interested in the captive insurance industry. In addition to funding, recipients rotate through KPMG’s Audit, Tax, and Advisory departments and gain practical experience through a secondment to Park Indemnity Limited, a local specialty insurance company. Scholars also receive access to industry events, including the Bermuda Captive Conference, and are supported by a dedicated coaching and career mentorship program for ongoing development and career guidance.

Bron Turner, Partner and Sector Lead for Captives at KPMG in Bermuda, also noted the importance of educating students about captive insurance and consider opportunities in the sector.

As we enter the second year of this scholarship, we’re encouraged by the growing interest in captive insurance among Bermuda’s students. The sector remains an important part of the island’s economy and global standing, and opportunities like this help create meaningful pathways for young Bermudians to learn more and build a career in the industry. We’re pleased to support Kijali and his interest in contributing to the continued strength of Bermuda’s captive insurance industry.
