Premier David Burt presented the 2024/25 budget on Friday, February 16, 2024. The Government has presented a balanced budget for the first time in over 20 years with the decision not to impose new taxes or tax increases on employees or employers and to maintain government fees, which has generally been well received by businesses. This balanced budget is primarily driven by continued growth in employment, particularly in the international business and construction sectors, with international business providing more jobs than in the peak year of 2008.
Following the Premier’s statement, KPMG in Bermuda provides commentary on highlights and its perspective on key items discussed in the Budget Statement within its 2024/25 Bermuda Budget Snapshot.
