James Berry

James specialises in audit and advisory services for a variety of clients including property, casualty, property catastrophe and life reinsurance companies.

• James serves as lead audit engagement partner on a Bermuda domiciled FTSE 150 insurer, as well as subsidiaries of SEC registrants, a material subsidiary of a FTSE 100 insurer and captives, including mutuals
• As Head of Audit, James oversees the firm’s focus on audit quality. In addition, James is a member of the firm’s technical committee and leads the firm’s accounting advisory services in relation to the forthcoming changes to financial instruments and insurance accounting under US GAAP and IFRS. James has also led IFRS conversion engagements with SEC registrant reinsurers and other publicly accountable entities
• James actively advises businesses in Bermuda with respect to regulatory obligations, including Solvency II, Basel III, AML / ATF compliance and FATCA.
