Gosselies, Belgium, 6 July 2023 – KPMG in Belgium and Brussels South Charleroi BioPark join forces to position BioPark as a sustainable biomanufacturing hub at the heart of Europe. BioPark has the ambition to become a leading sustainable biomanufacturing nexus by 2035 by supporting its stakeholders to achieve their digital transformation and ESG transition.

The innovative and first of its kind alliance in Wallonia will combine BioPark’s Life sciences expertise and KPMG’s transformation methodologies and experience to accelerate the digital and environmental transition of BioPark’s members in a collaborative, integrated and adaptative approach.

The alliance will drive cross-disciplinary collaboration in the era of digital and sustainable business transformation. To do so, the organizations will leverage BioPark's vibrant ecosystem including research institutes, universities, companies and public entities, and KPMG in Belgium’s diverse expertise and industry knowledge. Together, both organizations aim to drive innovation and foster sustainability for Belgium's life sciences sector.

KPMG in Belgium will provide the ecosystem’s organizations with comprehensive support in their sustainability journey, covering ESG initiatives, energy optimization and circular economy practices. For their digital transformation journey, KPMG in Belgium will also provide support in digital twins, data utilization, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and digital platforms. BioPark will provide deep life sciences expertise and mobilize its ecosystem stakeholders and networks. 

Together, BioPark and KPMG will analyze the ecosystem challenges - like energy and water consumption and waste management - and support the community to launch tangible initiatives and projects accelerating its sustainable transition.
