FS Audit isn’t just about crunching numbers — it’s about working alongside experts from diverse disciplines and seeing how real-world developments shape the financial landscape. One of our team members shares their experience:
“One of the things I love most is the collaboration. I get to work with specialists in tax, valuation, regulation, real estate, actuarial science, and investments — and I’m constantly learning from their insights. For example, I once worked with colleagues from the actuarial and regulatory teams on the audit of a large life insurance company. We reviewed the valuation of technical provisions under IFRS 17, and seeing how the actuary modeled assumptions around mortality and discount rates was incredibly insightful.
After we wrapped up, we went for lunch and ended up discussing how one of the insurers was implementing the new capital gains tax in their technical systems. It really reminded me how much cross-disciplinary teamwork helps me grow — not just technically, but also in understanding how financial institutions operate.”

Another reason this field stands out is how closely financial institutions are connected to what’s happening in the world. From geopolitical changes and shifts in interest rates to regulatory updates to important mergers, our clients are constantly navigating change — and so are we.
“Recently, we had to assess how certain market developments were impacting our insurance clients — from investment portfolios to potential claims. It required close coordination with valuation and actuarial colleagues to evaluate the financial implications and ensure disclosures were accurate and complete. It was a challenging project, but it showed how dynamic and relevant our work is, and how important it is to stay curious and collaborative.”
