On May 4, 2016, the EU General Data Protection Regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Union and will enter into force on May 25, 2018.
On May 4, 2016, the EU General Data Protection Regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Union and will enter into force on May 25, 2018. The GDPR will replace the Data Protection Directive from 1995 and aims at protecting the EU citizen’s personal data in the current digital world, whilst harmonizing the legislation for the processing of personal data across the entire EU. This will have a large impact on the private and public sector in terms of the handling of personal data.
