Alun is a Principal Director in KPMG’s national Government Incentives practice and has more than 25 years’ experience in assisting companies to access government support for innovation, research and development, technology commercialisation and business expansion activities.
His clients range from startups to large multi-national corporations across a wide range of industry sectors, including health and life sciences (pharmaceuticals, biotech and medtech), agribusiness, manufacturing, software development, engineering, construction and utilities (power and water).
Alun is one of the most highly experienced R&D Tax Incentive advisors in Australia. He also advises his clients in relation to state and federal government programs and has assisted clients access multi-million dollar grants for a wide range of projects. Alun uses his deep experience to manage the overlaps between programs in order to seek optimal funding outcomes.
Alun is particularly active with high-tech startups. He has a strong understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced by entrepreneurial, high-growth businesses and the role that government funding can play in achieving sustainable growth.
He has also been a mentor to a number of researchers and entrepreneurs.
