KPMG and Enactus
On 10 March 2016, Enactus South Africa held their annual Partner Recognition Breakfast, at which KPMG South Africa was being honoured.
Hosted at the KPMG offices in Johannesburg, the breakfast recognised the respective roles the various partner companies play in advancing Enactus programmes to progress lives, support communities and develop socially responsible business leaders.
At the event, Enactus Board Chairman Yunus Suleman shared the belief that the Enactus partners continue to be absolutely critical in the growth of the programme, emphasising their contribution behind the progress Enactus makes to improve the economic well-being of marginalised communities. He applauded the incredible generosity of all of the partner companies, commending their unwavering dedication to the programme.
Through collaborative commitment with their partner companies, Enactus South Africa has played an inspirational role in social upliftment by connecting student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities.
KPMG’s support of Enactus goes back many years. KPMG, through its long-standing partnership with Enactus, has over 300 company executives engaged with Enactus in over 30 countries. With the responsibility of not only mentoring, supporting and judging the Enactus teams, these executives also serve as board members with several members chairing the Enactus country operations.
Furthermore, KPMG was instrumental in helping the organization introduce the inaugural Enactus World Cup in London in 2001, and was also the presenting partner of the 2015 Enactus World Cup hosted in Johannesburg – the first World Cup on African soil. KPMG provides ongoing support to Enactus each year at its annual National competition.
This year’s National competition will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 27 to 28 July. Keep an eye on your inbox for further details.
