Shaheed Osman

Shaheed is a partner at KPMG South Africa and serves as the KPMG Southern Africa Head of ESG assurance focusing on the reporting implications of ESG-related matters and the assurance thereof. Shaheed joined KPMG in 2010 to serve his external audit training contract after graduating from WITS University. Shaheed has a strong external audit background and his audit clients have included KPMG priority clients. Shaheed served as a functional group leader in the Consumer, Industrial, and Mining business unit from 2018 having an oversight role of operations. Shaheed served in a leadership role over the KPMG Delivery Academy where he provided strategic direction to this growing business unit. Shaheed joined the Department of Professional Practice in 2021. As part of his technical accounting role, Shaheed performs technical reviews of financial statements for listed companies and is involved in complex technical accounting queries. Shaheed transitioned into ESG assurance in 2022 and is currently an engagement partner and quality reviewer on a number of high-profile sustainability assurance engagements Shaheed is also a member of the Integrated Reporting Council of South Africa Working Group and a member of the KPMG EMA ESG steering group and the Business Assurance/Integrated Reporting topic team.
