Ferdinand qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 and has been leading audit and advisory engagements to banks, development finance institutions, custody businesses, and pension and medical aid funds since then. He has accumulated a wealth of credit and private equity experience in his roles as an audit manager and partner on Nedbank Investment Banking, the lending division of Investec Bank Limited and the audit of the IDC. He possesses solid understanding of governance and risk management processes over credit risk and credit modelling and valuations of derivatives and unlisted investments. Ferdinand has obtained a wealth of experience in group financial reporting after his involvement in the audit of Nedbank Group Limited and Standard Bank Group. He has also specialised in the transition to the new IFRS 9 accounting standard by leading the projects for Standard Bank Group and Barclays Africa Group. Ferdinand has been involved in the attestation of the majority of central securities depository participants in the South African environment. He is a local specialist in the issuance of ISAE 3402 reports on these engagements. He was also involved in the migration and sale of the custody business of ABSA to Standard Chartered Bank.
