Shandhir Lachman

Shandhir is a Partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice with over 15 years of experience across a number of different industries. Shandhir specialises in the application of IFRS and is involved in providing accounting technical advice and opinions on complex transactions, implementation of existing and new accounting standards, and training to clients and staff. Shandhir is KPMG South Africa’s accredited JSE IFRS advisor. Shandhir spent a few years in the UK at KPMG’s International Standards Group (ISG) specialising in financial instruments and banking. He authored numerous global IFRS publications and thought leadership articles during his time at the ISG. He also worked at the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) on key projects including IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and was also responsible for finalising agenda decisions for the IFRS Interpretations Committee. Shandhir is also involved in KPMG’s international IFRS topic teams focusing on the application of IFRS standards, in particular those relating to Financial Instruments, Fair Value Measurement, Insurance Contracts and Revenue.
