Safiyya Dawood-Esakjee

Safiyya is an Associate Director in the Department of Professional Practice (DPP). Safiyya joined KPMG in 2010 to serve her external audit training contract, where her first year was served as an academic articles clerk at the KPMG Academy. Safiyya completed her training contract in the Energy and Natural resources business unit in 2012 and after qualifying transferred to the KPMGs technical audit & assurance support unit, DPP. Post articles, Safiyya had a dual role managing and executing audit engagements and providing technical audit & assurance support to KPMG audit teams, with a specific focus on power & utilities, renewable energy, and public sector clients. Safiyya spent a short period of time outside KPMG in the role of Support and Acting CFO where she was responsible for governance and oversight of the college’s finances, impact assistance, audit readiness, and skills transfer.
