With more than 30 years of public sector health and human services IT experience, John has been at the forefront of technological innovation in the sector, acting as a champion for health information interoperability. As associate deputy assistant secretary for IT and deputy CIO for the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), John was responsible for information resources management, including strategic planning, enterprise architecture and IT capital planning. He also worked with state government and private sector leaders in technology and healthcare to improve public health programs through the use of IT.
