A new chapter of leadership: Welcoming Martin Sheppard as ASPAC Chairman

KPMG today announced the Asia Pacific (ASPAC) Board has elected Martin Sheppard as the next Chairman of KPMG Asia Pacific, commencing 1 October 2025. Sheppard will succeed Honson To, who has held the position since 2017, alongside his position as Chairman of KPMG China held since 2015.

Sheppard has served as Chairman of KPMG Australia since September 2023 — a role he will continue to fulfil.

He has played a pivotal role in guiding KPMG Australia through significant moments of change and renewal, earning the trust of clients, regulators, and colleagues alike.

During his eight-year tenure as Chairman, Honson has been instrumental in strengthening regional integration and advancing cross-border growth strategies for KPMG ASPAC. His tenure was defined by a bold commitment to a values-led culture rooted in trust — one that championed integrity, celebrated inclusion, and placed the well-being of over 50,000 professionals across the region at its heart.

As Chairman of KPMG China, a role he will also conclude on 30 September 2025, To has led the China firm through transformative shifts in the nation’s economic sector.

As a member of KPMG’s Global Board and Executive Committee, Honson has helped ensure ASPAC’s voice was well represented on the global stage, laying a solid foundation for continued growth for the region

Honson leaves the ASPAC region in an incredibly strong position, and we owe him our deep appreciation for everything he has done for KPMG.
