Nelson Casihan

Nelson Casihan joined KPMG Vietnam in 2009. He is responsible for audit services to a wide range of manufacturing and consumer goods clients. He is overall responsible on the engagement, including the efficient and effective conduct of the audit, risk management, quality deliverables, client communication and relationship and administrative matters for this clients. He is also involved in a wide range of external audit assignments which include statutory audits under local regulations and annual audits of financial statements of local and multinational clients which require awareness of International Financial Reporting Standards and group systems. Most of his clients are subsidiaries of listed corporations, which require detailed awareness of the accounting principles of the parent company’s country.

Nelson is a KPMG accredited International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reviewer.

Experience

From September 2009 to 2011: Nelson took the role of audit senior manager and worked on clients in various industries including Cargill, Fujitsu, Masan Group, NEC, Nestle, Refico Group, San Miguel, etc.

From October 2011 – current: Nelson was promoted to audit director and act as engagement partner on all his audit clients. His current clients are owned/controlled by individuals/companies based in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Korea, HK, Taiwan, USA, European Union, etc. In his capacity as the overall in-charge of audit, he deals with his clients' HQ/Regional offices, boards, CEOs and heads of accounting and financial reporting, including their Group auditors, as necessary.
Currently, he is one of the two audit engagement partners in the Firm mainly focusing on Japanese clients. His Japanese clients include, among others, Aureole Mitani Group, Fujitsu, Mitsuba, Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp, Sojitz, Subaru (Motor Image) and Takashimaya. Some of his other multinational clients include Adidas, Astrazeneca, CJ, Emerson, Herbalife, Intertek, Linde, Nestle, Oriflame, San Miguel and Swiss Post Solutions.

Other experience

He has extensive experience in auditing multinational companies in various industries such as manufacturing, trading, real estate, construction and services and has shown that he can manage well client relationships and expectations.
